Early Sketches
My work focuses on the relationship between verbal and visual representation, which is simply a struggle for dominance for representational authority on nature that sometimes settles into a complementary relationship along open borders. Instead of making those borders explicit or trying to reconcile the split between visual and verbal representation, my work derives its origin from the phenomena that are born from this fissure. Additionally, it focuses on the creative possibilities that heterogeneity of representation offers to the medium of storytelling.
I didn’t set out to pursue this subject but as my portfolio developed I noticed that in my illustrations, the way I had instinctively used the words and images together revealed a pattern that I had not intended and I realized the lurking potential to experiment in the relationship between words and images.

Second step: I switched to acrylic and used salt, soap, tape,acetone for creating textures.
