Refuge; A Ballad for the Renting Class is a site-specific aerial dance that brings the urgent conversation of San Francisco’s housing crisis to the forefront and explores what it means for the city’s long established residents to be systematically evicted and priced out. The use of the Ellis Act alone has quadrupled in the past 5 years, evicting thousands of individuals who established San Francisco’s cultural, artistic and politically diverse society. Refuge aims to honor the lives of those losing their shelter while questioning our personal relationship to home
