Project K – The Korean Film Festival, Festival Design 2015

The design for the fourth edition of Project K – The Korean Film Festival attracts attention with four bold stripes in the colors of Project K. In contrast to the striking stripes the background insist of a fine filigree pattern in which a red-crowned crane and pine-trees are integrated. The pattern is inspired by traditional korean woodwork and ceramic art. Also in terms of content the red-crowned crane and pine-trees are a contrast to the 4 distinctive stripes. While the number 4 is an unlucky number in Korea and represents death, the red-crowned crane and pine-trees are symbols for longevity – something I wish for Project K for the future.
