Collaborated with Tippy of Googly Gooeys on this exhibit piece for Type Kita, a type exhibit last December. The theme was "Pass on the Passion" so we decided to utilize the "4Ps" mantra I live by: Passion, Purpose, Process, and Pursuit.

Instead of keeping it flat and illustrated on canvas, we decided to use papercutting as a medium to make it pop out more (literally). For the workload, I constructed the typefaces and layout while Tippy was in charge of color coordination and papercutting.

The color scheme isn't what I would normally use - but we decided to take it a bit further this time and applying Tippy's color palette more. Surprisingly, the turnout was better than expected.

 

Geometric lines and shapes were integrated in the layout as borders to round out the whole piece and make it more cohesive.

The letters and shapes were cut using a laser cutter and assembled one by one by hand.
