Museum of Epirus Folk Art - "Kostas Frontzos"

Based on Museological Study
This is a study on the interior of Museum of Epirus Folk Art at Giannena, Greece. On the basement of the building there is a revival of a traditional open air market place with wooden stalls. To this purpose the floor is paved in traditional stone to resemble an outdoor paved area, while pictures of the ancient fortress of the city cover the entire walls so as to create the illusion of long distant views. Various wall covering materials and colours have been used on the interior walls to create the diversity of an outdoor space while low power, incandescent like, lights add to creating a period atmosphere.

On the 1st floor of the building an entirely different use is required. The existing space is rearranged to host necessary audio and visual equipment and teaching tools as well as storage and display cabinets for educational purposes.
