KFC
SOUNDBITE TABLES

We were asked to help KFC increase the relevance of its offering by creating an exciting instore experience for the urban youth.

One thing stood out in our research: this market was all about up and coming South African musicians - a lot of whom were still unsigned and didn't have the platform they needed to showcase their talent.

And, since KFC didn't have its own record label, we decided to create record tables.

Some of the most talented local illustrators used pretty radical digital ink technology to create table tops that looked like this:

Then I added some of my own gangster white-girl swag.

Social sharing meant artists could get their music out there faster than ever.

And people got to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner AND a show every time they visited KFC.

Did I mention the whole no-earphones-needed-because-the-tunes-just-travel-straight- through-your-bones thing?

The KFC SoundBite Table walked away with:

- 1 Grand Prix Loerie for Digital & Interactive_ Applications, Games & Interactive Tools

- 1 Gold Craft Loerie Certificate for Digital & Interactive_ Digital Crafts

- 1 Bronze Loerie for Three Dimensional & Environmental Design_ Package & Industrial Design

- 1 Bronze Loerie for Digital and Interactive_ Media Innovation

- 1 Silver Bookmark Award for Digital Campaign Creative

- 1 Bronze Bookmark Award for Coding & Tech Innovation

- 1 Bronze Bookmark Award for Digital Installation & Activation

1 Silver Assegai for Innovative use of new technology
