CULVER CITY TRANSIT ORIENTED DEVELOPMENT
A Transit Oriented Development Project, designed to cater to the existing and projected needs of the population within the context of Culver City, a community that has continually gone through major redevelopments in hope to restore one of Los Angeles's largest concentration of Entertainment Production Studios. With the introduction of the Exposition Line to Culver City, the light rail transit system presents an ideal opportunity to spark further growth within proximity of the new station.
Due to the key location of the site, which sits at the nexus of three major boulevards and directly adjacent to the Culver City Station, the design of the project lay emphases on establishing an identity through the design of a mixed use community of residential, retail, office, and open space. The project ultimately becomes a place maker within the urban fabric, connecting adjacent neighborhoods with the greater Los Angeles region. The design resulted in the creation of a dynamic form, which not only becomes a symbol of Culver City, but a model of what potentially could be -- a more livable future.
