A Typographic Morphology
With Bringhurst’s Elements of Typographic Style as my guide, Flesh & Bones is a record of my growth as a designer as I learned the rules of typesetting as well as how to break them. Each student was assigned to tie the many chapters of their tome together under one metaphor, and I chose the human body. Accompanied by some of Andrea Vesalius’ gorgeous illustrations (to which I lay no claim), each chapter refers to a different layer of the human body, just as the principles of typography build upon themselves to create a beautifully set book
