I used a variety of mediums combining watercolour with the sharp contrasting elements of digital graphics as I wanted to combine the fragility and strength of this beauty practice. 
Flowers are used to overlap the watercolour painting as bound feet were reffered to as lotus feet ; the shape of a bound foot resembled the petals of a lotus. Flowers are also a symbol of beauty and feminity.
