These are screen captures of some of the very first work I did professionally, back in 1998 through 2000, for AWS - which is now known as WeatherBug.

 

I was very lucky to get my start in web & graphic design with a company that created a pretty amazing product - the WeatherBug - which won several major national awards when it debuted in early 2000. It was a huge jumpstart for my career, and inspired me to always think big.

After leaving WeatherBug, I moved on to Sallie Mae. While there, I began to expand my web & graphic design foundations, and had the opportunity to not only design websites, but also web-based services - which included the public interface for student loan accounts.

 

The work at Sallie Mae was truly rewarding, and definitely some of the most visual distinctive work I'd had the opportunity to work on at that point in my career.

After Sallie Mae, I joined a very small ( < 15 employees ) federal contractor called CTAC. They held a few small contracts with the federal government - and one very big one for the HHS.gov website.

 

My time with CTAC was, by majority, spent with the HHS contract, serving initially as a web designer, and after the federal webmaster retired, as the contractor webmaster for the entirety of HHS.gov internal and external web pages - of which there were thousands.

 

Though overwhelming at times, I learned extremely important skills in the areas of leadership, delegation, and collaboration while with CTAC.
