My grandfather collects coins and I was completely facinated with the reliefs on them as a child. I wanted to incorporate the same idea on a carpet: hand carved roses on a pure white woollen rug.

Striving to create the movement using different materials, colours and directions of tufting rows to portray a fragment of a butterfly wing. I call it extreme hand tufting where you have to plan every single thread of yarn on a carpet.
