In this opportunity we were chosen by Leo Burnett agency and the “Plástico” (directors of the spot), to create a tender CG panda bear for their Arcor client. The challenge in this case, was to achieve a combination of a realistic panda bear with some human attitudes that would make possible for it to have, for instance, the capability of walking on its two legs and also have very expressive facial gestures.

To achieve such thing, we started from exploring visual documentation found about different Panda bears, so that later on, we took some liberty such as hip’s position and the clavicle, moving a bit forward its gravity point, to make its eyes bigger, and slightly make its legs longer. The rest of the production has to do with developing a fur system and integrating it into the photography of the live action footage.  We have enjoyed very much the production of this spot, mostly the process of adapting original design of the character trying always not to loose its animal spirit.
