Newsweek: The Relaunch

IBT Media asked us to reimagine a print edition of Newsweek which had been discontinued at the end of 2012. We had been creating covers for their digital app for several months and knew they wanted a modern magazine with an understated elegance. We were able to convince them that a magazine with white space, printed on whiter paper with a matte varnish on the cover would provide a good base from which to avoid the acres of grayness that can sometimes afflict newsweeklies. The Bitcoin subject matter caused a furor and immediately put Newsweek back in the news.
