Climax- noun - the most important or exciting point in a story or situation, which usually happens near the end; the highest point of sexual pleasure; [rhetoric] a sequence of propositionsor ideas in order of increasing importance, force, or effectiveness of expression (definition from the Cambridge Dictionary).

The core idea of this design is based on flooring and ceiling modelling: the strategy is to raise the floor with some steps and to lower the ceiling insuspended boxes, obtaining something like a raumplan. The new ceiling hosts functional cabinets (for dry clothes and towels), a drawer and continuous illumination in coves.
The new raised floor is a walk through a progressive intimate way that ends at the shower’s wooden bench, and beneath it collects storages and plumbings items.
In this rhythmic climax every step has a purpose, leaving a continuous clearheight of at least 7’-2½”. The space is composed by subtraction of matter likea carved sculpture.

The focus in the design of Kenny’s bathroom is the best use of the ceiling height, within the limits imposed by narrow plan dimensions; for this reason the project is a CLIMAX of ascending steps that follow a descending roof of boxy clouds arranged in a rhythmic way. The whole design is a path that rises from the floor following the ceiling that lowers.

The floor, which raises, leading to the shower, is a spatula applied lightgrey colour resin. The ceiling is light grey, while white walls vertically emphasizes the grey horizontal surfaces. The mood is absolutely squared, with sharp lines, in a climax of polyhedra that animates the space and has aspecific function (storage, cabinets, drawers, lighting, steps, plumbing,piping, etc). The only concession to the organic shapes is in the application of contrasting wall mounted hooks.
