THE CLIENT:
Branding & Website Reconstruction for FAFIA, the national Canadian organization for supporting women's rights. Funded by the Federal Government of Canada and by public donations, FAFIA provides the United Nations, university scholars, as well as the general public with academic resources in order to hold the government accountable for their promises to continually improve the situation for women in Canada in all possible areas: economic, civil, social, political, Inter-American and racial issues.
LOGO REDESIGN
A complete overhaul to their visual identity was executed for FAFIA. Their old logo lacked sophistication as it harkened washroom iconography, and the pink shade to represent women was definitely cliché. The new logo symbolizes the many organizations that FAFIA represents, each supporting and uplifting one another. The clients requested that both hands as well as imagery of a flame to represent energy and, so I combined the two into a flame-like symbol.

The new colours are subdued tones of red, orange and yellow, balanced with green to symbolize growth and renewal. The colours were inspired by the elements of nature and its natural stones. The new colours no longer reflect the cliché pink colour and are much more sophisticated.
OLD WEBSITE:
The original website was cluttered with information and was not logically grouped for information to be easily found. Since it was built 12 years ago, it was not responsive to mobile device dimensions. To view the old website, go to: http://jolly-joey-05.gopagoda.com.

NEW WEBSITE:
The new website strips away all unnecessary elements, leaving only the essentials. Being a non-profit organization, the most prominent action was to get donations, so the "Donate" button is repeated in a bright yellow at the top and bottom of every page.

The new website is a custom-made Wordpress website that is responsive as well as multi-lingual (English & French). The design was built from scratch with 2D mockups in Photoshop, then Bootstrap was used (no cookie cutter templates)!
ABOVE: The client wanted a timeline, and with so much information, a vertical layout was best. I wanted to make it engaging and interesting to read, hence the different coloured backgrounds and big white dots to make it more enjoyable.
