Fountain House
Concept brainstorm + translation + photography
Client:
Goethe Institute (Montréal), Raumlabor (Germany)

Project:
Collaborated with the Goethe Institut and the German architecture firm Raumlabor on the Fountain House project in Montréal. The Fountain House highlights the importance of water as a natural resource and also provides a meeting spot to celebrate art and conversation.

Specifics:
Participation in brainstorm for concept creation of the Fountain House. Synthesized and translated brainstorm of graduate design students at UQÀM to share with the architecture firm Raumlabor in Germany (French to English). Shot photography to document the building and transformation of the Fountain House during the Summer and Fall (2014).
The Fountain House was built with green walls, so the exterior transformed from brown to green over the course of many weeks.
The tables and chairs were built during hands-on furniture making workshops run by Raumlabor. The event was free and open to the public.
The grass is beginning to cover the exterior of the structure.
These shots above and below capture audio-visuel performances by Gisèle Trudel and Stéphane Claude on October 10th.
Opening night shots from the top of the Fountain House.
Inside the structure by day (below) and night (above).
Kids seem to be among the biggest fans of the fountain.
Edible mushrooms were planted inside the green walls and sprouted on both the inside and outside of the structure.
Homemade basil pasta for a community dinner and lecture.
The construction phase.
