Howell Woltz, is the subject of an award winning documentary and judicial reform advocate. He approached me to develop and identity for Woltz Media, the entity under which he markets his book and speaking engagements.
In the documentary, Howell is identified as a white guy with glasses who must know something about the law. I felt this served as a metaphor for seeing the truth clearly. The glasses in the logo are intended to peer into the viewer, challenging them to wake up and see the truth as well.
Howell Woltz was an innocent victim of our corrupt judicial system, which led him to his current role as an advocate for change. The overarching concept for Woltz Media is Howell's Story Is Our Story. A die-cut reveals the constitution behind bars.
Pulling out Howell's information sheets reveals the ugly truth that was hidden by the pockets.
His stainless steal business card challenges the viewer to picture themselves behind bars, reenforcing the concept of, Howell's Story is Our Story.
A heavy duty custom embosser was made, which allowed for personalized folders without the cost of constructing them.
A harrowing fact screened back reveals an ugly truth that is present in our every day lives as American citizens.
In keeping with the Howell's Story Is Our Story theme, the audience is challnged not to become a number like Howell was in prison, and take a stand. Quotes from famous personalities throughout history challenge the viewer further on multiple versions of this bookmark.
Posters Howell brings to speaking engagements and book signings.
I also coached Howell on his TEDx talk in Savannah, GA, May 2014. In keeping with the concept, Howell urges the audience not to become a number like him. If you would like to learn more about Howell, watch his 15 minute award winning documentary directer and produced by Cody Joel below.
