The purpose of this project is to promote walking for short-distance routes, to draw user's attention to the healthy side that this kind of choice involves even about to save pullutants emitted into the atmosphere with a car.

The box, developed as a drawer, consists in two parts: an outer box and an internal one.
The outer black-box, representing the grey urban life, shows the amount of carbon dioxide poured into the air by a car in one-kilometer journey.
The inner green-box depicts the most environmentally friendly choice and reports the amount of calories you burn walking for the same distance, highlighting the gains as in terms of health as in impact environment.

The key message is visually reinforced by the packaging functioning, because the writing is legible on the outside only when the inner box is inserted, while it gets harder to read when the inner box is removed to use the product.

In order to promote a faster understanding of the packaging I've placed the claim drive the real change on the front side of the box, strongly communicating to the user that the solution of the pollution problem is inside.

To give a complete information, I've designed 4 different packaging, showing the 4 major types of cars and the related pollution. To avoid confusion from normal shells used by the shoes producers (in this case Adidas), I've planned a new collection, recognized by the logo 1km project.
