This is the album cover I designed for Jo Mangos 'Transformurations'. This is a remix album of songs from her previous 'Murmarations' album released on Olive Grove Records.

 

The original album was a circular design with moths drawn in a scientific illustrative style. The idea for the remix album was then to take something of the original and rework it with similar ideas to make it something different yet familiar. So I choose to use a spiral of flying 'things' ranging from the oldest and smallest goingfrom dinosaurs and insects into modern birds and then human based aircraft designs and then finally going into space travel

So the laragest items were represented as the smallest as a ever dwindling of evolution or progress, but finally ending up at the oldest 'thing' being the galaxy itself. 

 

The design was initally intended for 12" vinyl sleeve printing, but was then reworked for the CD and Tape cassette releases.
