"Per[form]er, Per[forming], Performance"

AIA Tampa Bay is pleased to announce the winner of its fall 2023 scholarship, Michael Pola.  Michael is a student at the USF School of Architecture and Community Design.

Every year AIA Tampa Bay awards two scholarships to students- one for each Spring and Fall Semester. The purpose of AIA Tampa Bay’s scholarship awards program is to “promote outstanding individual achievement in design and presentation…”. A jury of talented industry professionals is invited to review the students work and make the selection.

The jury this year consisted of:
Robert Bitterli, AIA
Linaea Floden, AIA
Tim Beecken, AIA
Michael Stevenson, AIA
Al Ramphal, AIA

Jury’s Commentary:
The jury was extremely impressed with the quality and quantity of work Michael produced. His ability to capture the spaces and forms in his initial diagrams clearly served as a vital part of his process. A process in which he retained its essence throughout all of his sketches, drawings, and models. All in which varied in scale and program, but each were thoughtfully designed and detailed to a beautiful level. Overall a very well deserving project. The work throughout the studios was excellent.
