Redesign of the packaging of the young brand "Coal"

"Ugol" is a young perspective brand. 

The producers of snacks under the brand "Ugol" approached us to redesign the packaging of their products. It was necessary to maintain the continuity of elements with the existing design and develop a new one that would increase the effectiveness of the brand. 
Solution
In order to accomplish the task, we used our author's tool ©"Three Layers of Effectiveness", which gives the most accurate assessment of the effectiveness of the packaging design in percentage terms. Since the main point of contact between the brand and the customer is the shelf in the store, it was important for us to analyze how the product looks against such powerful competitors as Genie and Martin seeds. The patented methodology in this way allows us to find out if the packaging is noticeable, if it stands out and if the offer is attractive to the product's target audience. As always, our team of true professionals set out to develop a design that would not just attract attention, but would convince the customer to choose the very product. 
According to the results of the audit, the old "Ugol" brand design scored only 46%, indicating low effectiveness. There is a lack of brand focus, broken architecture, and a foodzone that doesn't evoke any emotion. The design does not speak to the benefits of the product and is lost against the backdrop of strong competitors whose product seems more expressive and therefore tastier. 
Based on the analyzed points for brand growth, we redesigned the packaging of "Coal" seeds under the "EXPRESS DESIGN" tariff. The service allows in a short period of time and for an acceptable amount of money to implement an effective variant that will be successful in the market. We removed the drawbacks of the old packaging design and strengthened the new one many times over. Our team, keeping continuity with the old look, kept the image of a dump truck. We used it to emphasize the word "Ugol", as if BelAZ was driving the letter "O" with a seed in it. In the future, this technique can be scaled to other brand products: another type of seeds and nuts. We made the logo itself closed and placed it on a contrasting background for visibility. The product category fit into the closed block of the logo along with the visual image of the truck. 
The whole architecture of the design swirls around the logozone, creating a flying effect of an appetizing foodzone with an image of seeds and sea salt.
We also worked on the conversion layer of the packaging, telling the customer why Ugol seeds are the best snack option. On the back of the packaging are six reasons to choose this product: "We select only the finest caliber of seeds", "We check the quality of the product in the laboratory", "We hand-pick every batch", "We roast evenly with hot air", "We use vacuum salting to achieve perfect flavor saturation". This helps the brand develop an association with a high-tech manufacturer who thinks first and foremost about making sure the customer tastes good and is safe. 
By redesigning the packaging, we increased its effectiveness to 81%, which is an excellent result. The brand "Coal" became noticeable, wins attention from the goods of competing brands, and most importantly - convinces the consumer to make a choice in favor of it.
