2023 Silent Night Animals Series

Silent Night Christmas Series 2018-2023

Native animals of the Great Lakes region are the subject of this ongoing promotional series. Each animal is seemingly caught in a moment of silence on a still evening or night.

Silent Night Bobcat at Indian Lake

Number eleven in the series shows a full moon rising behind a red lynx nestled in the crook of a buttonwood tree. The sighting of a shy lynx is as fleeting as the gloaming when the light of day fades to give way to the veil of night and the shadows become iridescent and shadows fill with light.

Red Squirrel Overlook at Grand Haven

The first of my Silent Night Series for Christmas 2023 featuring native animals of Michigan in winter landscapes.

Silent Night Grey Wolf at Michigan's Isle Royale

This one is more mysterious featuring one of our most isolated wild places in the state.

Silent Night Mink in the Porcupine Mountains

A Michigan ermine in its white winter coat catching a trout in one of the countless streams in the Porcupine Mountains. Merry Christmas!
