What is 'Good' ?

What is 'Good' ?

A back to back publication, based on a philosophical thought of what being good actually is, the publication was derived from an essay based upon whether graphi designers have the responsibility to make the world a better place. However for this publication I diverted back to everyone and how everybody may have the responsibiltiy, I looked at different theories based upon 'good'.

The two main divisions of peoples views are religous and non-religious (secular), the book could have gone into all of the religions, but there are so many it would of been impossible and so I focussed upon four of the most popular religons, and four well-known secular theories.

I aimed my publication at high school children, whose ideas of society are forming and they have a basic knowledge of the world and awareness, but there views are still influenced and I wanted to create something with positive ideas, and importantly more awareness of other peoples views and consideration of them.

The layout is simple and followable there is a key with icons that summarise key background information for each religion/theory. Then there is a brief explanation of what is defined as good and how it is abided by, and also what it seen as bad, and the overall purpose of being 'good'.

The book meets in the middle and joins the two together, as really I felt that most of the religious ideas and secular theries have key similarities and that everyone can strive to make the world better, help others and stop wars/ terrorism/ racisim/ sexism etc which are all derived from negativity.
