Sketchbook Summer 2022
Sketches from my garden over my first summer of living in Portland, Oregon. I let myself work only with three colors (fluorescent pink, black, white), a breakthrough in my personal practice. Limitations got me drawing faster, and reminded me of my favorite parts of working with screen printing, like misregistrations.

Though my commercial work focuses on drawing letters, I must at times scrub my brain with other forms. Both disciplines are, to me, largely a matter of rendering for legibility, balancing positive and negative forms, and fussing about the composition and textures.
