Rice straws – low value by-product from agriculture – are usually burned by farmers after harvest, especially in the North of Vietnam. Smoke and ash from this activity pollute the air of surrounding towns and increase global warming. To help solving this problem, Nam Tural – a fresh startup – has crafted an innovative firelighter using rice straws. It is the first time this material being used for fire-starting products. Win-win situation has been created for all: extra income for farmers, lower pressure for our pollution and no tree harmed making these kind of products.
Nam Tural worked with Minima Studio at the early stage to design an eye-catching package that stands out from the others. An eco-friendly yet high quality approach was chosen with hand-drawing logotype and illustration, customized icons and instructions, combined with earthy colors. The dark green is the hero tone of the whole package to highlight the flame and the product itself. Green boxes are also different from other similar products on the shelf, adding values to their competitive advantages beside sustainable business and positive social, environmental impacts.
