Design Bridge 2014 Submission: Dr.Oetker

Brief:
To Redesign a famous brand, product or service and visualise it in a breakthrough way.

Concept:
Looking into the challenges with adding food colouring to mixtures with the existing bottles that are already on the shelves. There seems to be a space for creating something that allows better precision when adding colour. Looking into famous brands I will redesign the bottle to help with this problem of not getting the right amount of drops to make the perfect colour.

Solution:
The chosen brand is Dr.Oetker who seems to be very much like most other brands that offer the same product, revolving around the generic cupcake look. The concept of my idea is taking it away from that and focusing on the colours and the science of making and customising your own colours to fit with the slogan 'The Sceince of beautiful colour.' This relates to the precision and the brand name Dr.Oetker and trying to make it stand out in the category.
The idea of the test tube shape bottle with the pippete is due to how the original bottle is not accurate when puring food dye to create the perfect colour. The nib is extremely thin to help with the precision when adding the droplets. The design is simple as I wanted to move away from the generic look of food colouring packaging and wanted the focus soley on the Dr.Oetker colours.
The simple graphics would apply to the labels continuing with the focus on the colour droplets inside. Each label would differentite according to the colour of food dye. The droplets represent the amount of times to squeeze the pippete for the drops you put into the mixture and the tone of the colour it would create. Underneath are suggestions from Dr.Oetker on how to customise your own beautiful colours using the colour that is purchased. This way if only a few of the colours are purchased, those colours can be customised to create other colours in the range.
