A Most Intriguing Lady Mini Series

With Sarah, The Duchess of York AKA Fergie

A Most Intriguing Lady is a social video series designed to promote Sarah Ferguson’s book launches for her two new historical fiction romance novels. A Most Intriguing Lady and Her Heart for a Compass are based on real, self-determined, royal society figures during the Victorian period in The United Kingdom. This series was published in 2023 as part of a broader rebranding initiative for The Duchess, so the team was very excited to develop some of the first creative for her new empowered era of romance, joy, and a little mystery.

As the creative director, I sought to write concepts that charmingly blended elements of Sarah’s refreshed brand with distinct themes from the AMIL novels. To best gauge her team’s appetite for fun, we proposed ten concepts—each one just a pinch more bizarre than the last—and were thrilled to produce You Won’t Want to Miss it, Press For The Tea, and Through the Keyhole. Overall, a bit mad, a bit glam, and most intriguing,

PROCESS

In addition to concept and creative direction, I worked alongside Sarah’s team to design Flea and the Duck from You Won’t Want To Miss It. Initially, the animated duo holding a casual conversation just outside her purview was proposed as a pair of Corgis. However, the team wanted to model Flea after a real rescue dog that lives with Sarah, and pair him with a duck. Using photos of the real-life Flea, I leveraged Midjourney AI to design and refine the characters before handing them off to our VFX partner.
