Our friends from Backbone asked us to create a 3D render of PlayStation Edition controller for the holiday season with a focus on a wintery theme. Using various software, we were able to effectively and efficiently bring their rough idea to life with a high level of accuracy and realism.

3D technology allowed us to experiment with different design elements quickly and make precise adjustments in real-time, ultimately creating a visually stunning representation of the product in a frozen state.

To make realistic ice, we created a complex physical system in Houdini to simulate how real world ice buildup on surfaces and how icicles form when thawing. Snow is a separate simulation layer that covers the ice.
