La Choc is a California-based artisan chocolate maker creating delicious vegan chocolates, with love - by hand. From bean to bar, every chocolate of La Choc is made with an unwavering commitment to the highest quality ingredients and sustainable business practices.

LaChoc's Vision, Mission & Our own Challenges

Andrea (owner)’s dream was to craft the most delicate dairy, gluten and sugar-free chocolates, made without animal ingredients. She wanted to get a premium brand name and feel, so when customers interact with her brand they feel the quality and importance of every ingredient too. Our main challenge was to come up with a simple, yet unique packaging which will stand out nicely on shelves and amongst other competitors, all that with minimalist style and sustainable materials.

Brand Naming & Logo Propositions

We had two initial meetings prior to the naming process and Andrea wanted us to focus with something related to the words chocolate or cacao (cocoa), and to sounds premium as well. In the end, we ended up with 4 different names:

Packaging Exploration for the Chocolates

After we've settled down on the name and logo (this time from first concept!) we explored several color scheme options and ended up with the chocolate-nuts shades of (mostly) brown color. These can be seen throughout all the packaging and website. Besides that, we presented 4 label/packaging options for the chocolates, from where one of those is minimalistic while the other ones are kind of wavy resembling the fusion of ingredients and orgasmic experience while eating the chocolate.

Finalized Designs, the Output & LaChoc's Impact

Andrea ended up choosing version 3 from where we explored additional complementary colors that will go along with the flavours and fruits/nuts that are part of these premium chocolates. The main idea was to have a prominent symbol + wordmark, but also put some emphasis on the label itself, where the percentage of cacao is highlighted. On top of that, we've made a golden badge to let people know that LaChoc's chocolates are 100% from organic and vegan sources.
