Editorial
For my senior design thesis, I wrote, photographed and designed a cookbook dedicated to cooking, growing, and living from scratch.
I asked my talented friend Rachel Bridgewood to photograph my hands performing the actions in each section. Hands became a major theme for me—I find something irreplacable about hand-prepared food. I'm convinced you can taste the difference.
Before my recipes, I created a simple introduction to planting, growing, and harvesting herbs indoors.
Rather than clustering the ingredients at the top of the page and asking the reader to bounce from the directions to the measurements, I’ve floated the ingredients to the side of the directions.
This first edition contains 30 recipes (watch for more in edition 2), my best of the best—the tried and true recipies to which I find myself returning again and again.
I recieved such an overwhelming response at my senior show that I made scratch avalible to purchase through amazon's on-demand publishing branch. As of March, dozens of copies have found homes with friends, family, and fans across the country.

For those nearby, I designed tiny promotional recipe cards (when the printer didn't deliver by Christmas) and packaged copies I delivered by hand.
