Independence golden ale
This design concept of beer packaging was developed for the Ukrainian brewery ‘Nezalezhnist’ for beer brewed in the UK to raise funds for the Ukrainian army. Idea: the Cossacks are world-famous Ukrainian soldiers, who bravely fought for Ukraine's freedom and independence in the 15th century. The image on the label is a painting of Ilya Repin called ‘Cossacks write a letter to the Turkish sultan’ in response to his demand to surrender. The answer was powerful! (find it on Wiki) On February 24, 2022, Russia invaded Ukraine and attacked tiny Snake Island in the Black sea. A group of 13 modern ‘Cossacks’ soldiers strongly defend the island. When a russian warship demanded that they surrender, they said ‘Russian warship, **** off’. This phrase, like letter to sultan, became a symbol of Ukrainian resistance but in 21th century. Now everyone knows it. Ukraine continues to fight against Russia. For peace, independence and a free world. Glory to Ukraine! Glory to Heroes!
