"Fire Dancer"
This was a piece in honor of the night and life around a campfire. It depicts the quintessential gypsy spinning poi (the ball that's on fire) in complete control, but free. Reference was used for the pose, but the hair, wrap, clothes, and even the poi and fire rings were all original. The gypsy takes us to another world as we watch her dancing, and even her coins draw us in to her movement. She is at one with the world around her in a way that most of us can only admire from afar.
