The words that we use in our daily life is indeed a very powerful tool. It allows us to communicate, to express our emotions and to convey certain messages. Through words, we are able to meet people, to make friends and to built relationships.

But if we are not careful enough, words can sometimes become a form of weapon.

Word vs. You is a project which serve to convey the message
"words are powerful but we have power over them. "

But in what way?

This project is particularly speaking towards the young people, to allow them to understand the impact of words towards the low self-esteem people. Also, to encourage young people to take initiative in assisting low self-esteem people by speaking positive words towards them.

Changes may take awhile to happen but let us play our parts and take the initiatives to help them. Shall we?

Whether or not people who are low self-esteem will change, let us play our parts and take the initiatives to help them. Shall we?

A series of posters is created to prompt the target audience to ponder about themselves in terms of their comments and conversation about other people.

How did they express it? Did they hurt anyone unknowingly?

In addition to that, i have also designed an accordion fold about the characteristics of low self-esteem people. This will help the young people to understand them better and perhaps taking the initiatives to help them through actions or words.

Do you know any of the characteristics?

< Having 'self talk' that are always negative, critical and self-blaming >

< Assume that luck plays a large role in all their achievements >

< Ignore their positive qualities >

< Judge themselves to be inferior with their peers >

< Use negative words to describe themselves >

Lastly,

maybe you can try and guess...

<.....................>  themselves when things go wrong
