Gil Ga On
The aesthetics of Korean art, I believe that Korean art is emerged by its love for naturalness. As Korean people left their design at their most natural state and appreciated in that way, Korean art has a distinctive taste in everything from architecture to everyday furniture, and from ornaments to paintings.
Architecture is one of the examples that follows the natural lines of the mountains surrounding it, and is built around its natural environment rather than abolishing hills to make a perfectly idea structure of architecture.
All of this appreciation for nature comes from the basic philosophy of Koreans taking to their natural peaceful environment. We can feel the overwhelming grandness yet familiarity and comfort of nature.
Korean art is much more than its naturalness. Korean art has a powerful splendor. The use of primary colors in luxurious pattern is another face of Korean art that shows that Koreans also loved decorativeness in their art.
