As a means of independent study, I recently returned to my old portfolio branding and redesigned it with combined techniques from both graphic design and illustration.

 

Below are some traditional studies down in marker, which were soon scanned and traced in Adobe Illustrator.

Above is the first rough draft of my branding and identity. It includes my full name initials [ICA]. Although it looks like an interesting illustrative concept, the design was too complicated and needed graphic simplification. Thus began more studies.

And thus, the final draft of my branding.
