IPod Silver

A brief asking us to design and advertise a new iPod to the over 50s. The iPod Silver brief was a group project, I worked with fellow students: Billie McMillan, Lauren Perkins, Petras Ulickas & Sophie Richardson.
I created a concept based around the 1950s love for music, festivals and drug scene. The idea was to create imagery that would aid the over 50s to not only reminisce but to feel a part of their teenage years. Development of the idea lead me to experiment with kaleidoscope imagery to create a surreal composition around objects, movements and music artists popular at the time.
Further experimentation of kaleidoscope imagery into shapes, the circle effective for highlighting the centre of the IPod. The circle can also illustrate the fact that such music is at the centre of the IPod silver, the brand has evolved around it as well as showing the control from the user, as well as creating the link between the user, the music and using the IPod itself.
My own variations using my kaleidoscope imagery based on Billie McMillans poster design.
Our final product design created by Petras Ulickas. The box works as a docking station and storage device, a funky addition to the livingroom with a detachable kaleidoscope on top.
The final poster design, imagery by Billie McMillan and Lauren Perkins.
