Introduction

The pet insurance provider Animal Friends want to launch an app called Biscuit that rewards dog owners with in-app prizes for taking good care of their pets.

The Brief

To design, build and ship an app to the App and Play stores, picking up existing brand work done by another agency and evolving it focusing on digital design covering a marketing website UI, UX and asset graphic design for the app.

First of all we mapped out the project to discover the key features and USP's essential for the MVP and documented the flows in Figma.

After sketching out the flows of the key features, we then needed to digitise Biscuit's logo as a vector, brightening up the tones, redrawing the logo text and creating light and dark background variants.

We also created a flat version and a faux 3D version as vectors for marketing and development to choose from depending on media requirements.

After digitising the logo we picked out some key screens from the discovery phase and painted them in a UI style that matched the new brand direction, adding some new graphical assets and colours to the new growing digital styleguide.

Using the concepts for reference the sketch from the discovery phase was worked up as a set of product screens. We started with the logical UX layout, and then painted that in a UI style that matched the logo design and concept work.

Now we had a wider digital identity for the brand, we could select stock photos and illustrations, and lay them out in a web design that compliments and fits with the product design, showcasing the screen concepts we had already created.

As the MVP key features wrapped up, the design team could then focus on further assets to add more personality to the app, these reward badges we added as a mini asset design project.
