Living Earth – a Geothermal Bird’s Eye View

Living Earth – a Geothermal Bird’s Eye View
There are currently no active volcanic eruptions on Iceland but there is still plenty of evidence of the tremendous heat present in the earth beneath it. On Iceland, there are many geothermal areas, which I find incredibly interesting to photograph.

A few weeks ago, I went to one of my favourite geothermal areas. It was the first time I went there with my drone and I focused a lot on the different patterns, shapes and colours you can find. I feel sometimes you need this bird’s eye perspective to see and appreciate how surreal these places are. Even though it looks like it isn’t something real, it very much is.

All of these photographs are taken with my DJI Mavic Air 2S. Most of them are stitched together out of 3 photographs to create a single panorama. This allows me to show the most detail in every final image.
