First Look At the New Eruption at Fagradalsfjall

First Look At the New Eruption at Fagradalsfjall

On Wednesday a new volcanic eruption started at Fagradalsfjall on the Reykjanes Peninsula in Iceland. The eruption is taking place in Meradalir, a lower valley in the area. It’s much larger than the first one. I was very lucky and privileged to visit the area within the first few hours of the eruption. I put some footage together to show you how incredible this volcanic eruption is.

Last year, whilst the eruption was going on, it was clear as daylight to me that this was something really special and unique. Never in a million years did I dare hope that I would experience this again – let alone so soon. And yet, it just did. It’s an incredible thing to witness a volcanic eruption up close. I feel honoured and emotional as witnessing the birth of a new landscape, a new part of our planet, has been such a big event in my photographic and personal life. It left a real mark on me. If you ever get the chance to experience this for yourself, treasure it and let it sink in how indescribably beautiful, impressive and mind-blowing it is.

Subscribing to my channel or sharing the video is an easy way of supporting my work. Doing so helps me out a lot!
