Self-initiated project
It’s great to see the stop-motion animation style still competing alongside it’s CGI counterparts and ParaNorman is a brilliant example of stop-motion done successfully. All the characters are beautifully animated with so much attention to detail going into each.
Needless to say I was inspired and I wanted to see if I could recreate the lead character in Photoshop. I basically built him up from layers starting with a basic character outline. Once I was happy with the general shape then I fleshed him out with light/dark tones and added some texture for his clothes
