The fishing profession plays an important role in the socio-economic development in the UAE,  being one of the main food security sources
The UAE supports the fisheries sector to ensure sustainability of the fisheries reserve and social and material stability of the fishermen. 
The fishermen have unlimited support from the UAE President and they are encouraged to sustain the fishing profession, a traditional forefather's profession, however they required upgrading of the profession so that they play a role in the community.
