Modernist Totem
A sculptural piece exploring geometric primitives, contrast, and positive and negative space in three dimensions. The piece fuses aluminum and wood together in the modernist tradition to highlight the intrusion of mechanistic materiality into natural substance. Angular extrusions of wood and excised geometric shapes break the uniformity to create dynamic interior space.
