This is a commissioned piece for Yue Hwa Department Store in Singapore. The flagship shop of Yue Hwa is located at historical Nam Tin Building in Singapore's Chinatown area. The building was formerly the Great Southern Hotel. It was designed by Swan & Maclaren and was once the tallest building in Chinatown.

The brief given is to illustrate the department store within the Nam Tin Building with different floors offering different kinds of products. The backdrop is Chinatown with many of the landmarks around the department store, such as the Majestic Theatre and the former Thong Chai Medical Hall.

Furthermore, the client wants to thank its loyal customers and staff over the years with an added task of drawing in 200 plus faces of the staff and regular customers and their families within the artwork. A Lunar New Year theme was picked for the piece, both in time for the Lunar New Year of 2022 and also have an atmosphere of good luck and prosperity beyond.
