Excerpt from Artist Statement
As a photographer, I often find myself seeing the world in a perceptive light. I have learned that the visual narratives that resonate most stem from the stories that require curiosity and courage to discover. Though taking stunning pictures still excites me, I now make photographs to illuminate the human experience. I want to create more than works of art. I strive to document those stories that bring people closer together and at times, incite them to action.

My camera allows me to capture the complexities of reality and the abstractions of fantasy. The visual narratives that I seek stem from stories that have transcendent themes. The current direction of my work combines the aesthetic quality characteristic of photographic symbolism with the documentary objectivity typical of modernism. By blending meaning with form, I strive to make photographs that challenge preconceptions, strike bastions of established beliefs, and stir cauldrons of emotions.
