A personal project of mine has started spreading into my commercial work for album covers and also music videos that I am directing. This specific project was for a music video for Hip-Hop artist, Hafrican. It was a snippet of his second verse and the line inspired me to take on a "fresh sushi" type of route with the styling.
I picked up some air dry clay and some alphabet cookie cutters. I cut the letters out and then mixed together some acrylic paint to try and resemble a salmon color. After painting the letters I layed them out on a silver platter at an upscale steak house and also added in the chopsticks and garnish to fill out the plate a little. With the help of some dry ice that I positioned around the lettering, I was able to get an awesome effect of the fog surrounding the fish.
