Eckart Witzigmann has influenced the world of culinary art like no other. Not only did he make nouvelle cuisine more widely know, but he also was the first chef outside of France to be awarded the coveted three stars in the »Guide Michelin« and was named »Chef of the Century« in 1994 by the »Gault & Millau« restaurant guide.

On the occasion of the eightieth birthday of Eckart Witzigmann, we developed the magnificent book »Eckart Witzigmann – Was bleibt« (»Eckart Witzigmann – What remains«) on behalf of Benevento Publishing. Two extensive volumes on Eckart Witzigmann’s life work are bundled in a high-quality linen slipcase. »My Vision« tells in ten chapters about the most important stages and experiences in the life and work of Witzigmann and lets the readers immerse themselves in a very personal picture section comprising eight decades. In »My Work«, 25 former students of the Chef of the Century are portrayed – they talk about very personal experiences with their boss. In addition to presenting a selection of Eckart Witzigmann’s signature dishes, these dishes also experience an exciting reinterpretation by the students. The individual chapters are rounded off by a »gift« from the students: a completely new culinary creation as a tribute to their teacher.

We decided to give the books a lot of white space – combined with the colors aubergine (after Witzigmann’s restaurant of the same name in Munich) and gold. This symbiosis creates a classic elegance and emphasizes the top-class work of Witzigmann. Specially selected different types of paper, materials and finishes round off the work. In addition to the standard edition, a limited, numbered special edition was published. This edition, executed with golden hot foil stamping, contains next to the numbering a signature of the Chef of the Century as well as a high-quality, also hand-signed art print. To complete the honors and to celebrate Witzigmann’s date of birth, the 4th of July, 407 copies of the champagne edition were produced. Each copy comprises a printed wooden box containing not only one piece of the limited special edition but also a specially bottled, limited vintage champagne from Pol Roger from 2008. Cheers!
