I have created a collaboration between Zara and Refashion which focuses on zero waste methods to reduce the impact of fashion on the environment.
Natural Samples: Using natural dyes including Turmeric, black beans and beetroot to experiment with the effect on calico. Also, using flowers and leaves I hammered them into calico to see if the colours would transfer onto fabric; this wasn’t very effective.
I created two repeat patterns in the selected colour palette of red, blue, green, yellow, black and white  for five garments in each print. The garments include a skirt, t-shirt, crop top, blazer, flares, dress and trainers.
I created a mood board for the target audience of  Zara including their aesthetic, hobbies, friendships and dream job; this influenced the style of the garments I designed as well as the selected colour theme. The two patterns I created on Photoshop feature the selected colour theme of red, blue, green, yellow, white and black. Then, I printed these onto ten garments with five in each colour way.
Based on my original fifteen sketches that featured the techniques of zero waste, up-cycling and natural; I then developed them into three fashion illustrations with various garments and colour ways to experiment with what would appeal to my target audience.
I created two initial range plans featuring my ten garments in the two prints. I experimented with two coloured backgrounds to see which one brought out the colours the best on the garments as well as being suitable for my target audience. Finally, I decided on a clean slate grey colour that draws together the primary colours and demonstrates the aesthetic of the collection.
I developed a creative range plan that demonstrates various garments from the collection. I related it to my collaboration between Zara x Refashion with the background and key quotes. The various positioned models demonstrate how the clothes would look in real life from the drape and how they could be worn.
These are my initial fashion illustrations for the collection; I experimented with coloured backgrounds and stitched samples in the background. The overall aesthetic demonstrate the unique style of the clothing and up-cycling vibe with the sketching lines and colour.
This is my final fashion illustration that demonstrate a garment from my collection as well as monochrome background I created on Photoshop. Overall, I believe this fashion illustration appeals to my target audience with the unique colours, shapes and line work.
Based on my target audience who enjoys art and illustration as well as social events with friends to museums and galleries; this will appeal to them with the abstract lines, layering of colours and the demonstration of the outfit on an abstract form.
In addition to the fashion illustrations I created two Facebook and Instagram stories post that link to ending fast fashion as well as demonstrating the aesthetic of the collection.
Tech Plan: I created a tech plant that conveys the aesthetic of the collection as well as the design of the item I am going to manufacture from my range plan.
Creative Range Plan: I designed imagery inspired by my collection

Summary of project: I created six slides that depict my project.
