Linda Jamieson School of Dance's profile

Classes Taught by the Linda Jamieson School of Dance

Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance offers quality instruction to children and youth in the area. Certified teachers at the Linda Jamieson School of Dance guide students between three and 19 years old. The school’s suite of programs meets students’ needs as they grow, building both technical skills and personal confidence.

As of 2021, the school hosts three broad categories of classes. The first is open to students between three and six years old and introduces children to dance. This category then specializes in three styles of dance, ballet, jazz, and tap.

The second category of classes, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance’s recreational program, serves students between five and 19 years old. Each age group, junior, intermediate, and senior, contains classes specializing in the same dance styles as the Young Dancers program. Each age group also has technique classes for each style.

The third category of classes is the school’s pre-professional program. Available to students between eight and 19 years old, members enter this program via audition only. In addition to the June recital, open to the other categories of classes and age groups, pre-professional program students may perform in the school’s December Nutcracker production. Students may also prepare for regional and national competitions, individually or as part of a team.
