Employers should discuss money early in the hiring process to grab a millennial's attention. However, when it comes to employing millennials, executives and managers should know when and how to utilize money as a motivator.

Millennials are increasingly staying at home with their parents later than previous generations. While many older people believe that this is due to a desire for comfort and a lack of willingness to take on responsibilities, there are other aspects to consider. First, the property market is not structured in the best interest of young people, and second, millennials prefer to rent rather than buy. Millennials graduated from college with massive student loans and a high cost of living, which put further strain on them. As a result, they are on the lookout for the highest-paying jobs and are eager to admit it.

Furthermore, millennials, particularly in the tech-related industries, have remarkable abilities. Therefore they are within their rights to demand a fair wage. Employees of all generations were polled for reasons they felt disengaged at work in Wrike's Employee Engagement Survey. The top reason given by all generations questioned was that they felt their "effort is devalued or unappreciated." For 40 percent of millennials, however, the top rank is linked to poor salaries. In fact, Millenials were 48 percent more likely than other generations to cite pay as a major source of dissatisfaction.
