Peace One Day's Hour of Silence builds on the day of global peace by asking participants to step away from social media for one hour and use that time to engage in peaceful activities, such as volunteering in the community. By updating their cover page with a special message, wearing t-shirts, and using unique window blinds, people can spread the word and raise awareness without ever breaking silence.
Hour of Silence microsite. Users will use this platform to contribute time normally spent on social media in order to support Peace One Day's efforts in providing a worldwide day of peace.
A participant's Facebook timeline during their Hour of Silence. The timeline is shut down to friends, with the exception of a direct link to the Hour of Silence microsite, so they, too, can participate in the efforts.
Once entered, participants will have the option of receiving a t-shirt or a window blind to show support without breaking silence.
